How to Sign Directly from the Documents Tab

You can now sign documents directly from the Documents tab inside a transaction — no need to navigate to a separate section to complete your signature.

You can sign documents from the Documents tab inside a transaction, without building the envelope from scratch somewhere else.

Steps

  • 1. Open a transaction and go to the Documents tab.

  • 2. Tick the documents you want signed. You can tick more than one.

  • 3. Click Sign Documents in the toolbar above the list.

  • 4. Click starts an envelope containing those documents. Add your signers and tags and send it as usual — see Sign on Click Contracts for what your signers then see.

With a document ticked, Sign Documents builds the envelope straight away.

If you tick nothing, the same action opens a picker instead, with every document in the transaction. Tick them there and click Sign.

The picker searches, sorts and filters by status, and the eye on a row previews the document before you commit to it.

The Archived toggle brings in documents you have archived, which are otherwise left out.

Tips

  • This feature saves time by keeping your signing workflow right where your documents live.

  • Links cannot be signed. If everything you ticked is a link rather than a file, Click tells you so and stops there — tick at least one real document. A mixed selection works, and the links are skipped with a notice.

  • If the action is not there at all, either the tab has no documents yet, or signing from the Documents tab is not switched on for your account. It is a feature we enable per account, not something you set up on the document — ask us and we will turn it on.
