1. Save Your Most Common Answers as Defaults
A default saves your most common answer to a question, so it is filled in automatically in the envelopes you start afterwards, for one envelope type or for every envelope type in your state that asks the same question. You set or update defaults from within an envelope; there is no separate presets page in Settings. See Set Presets Within an Envelope below.
For states with multiple representation agreement options, set your most-used form as the default the same way. You can still switch to a different form on a per-envelope basis when needed.
2. Set Presets Within an Envelope
The three dots beside any question open this menu. The current account default is named under the option that would change it.
From the home screen, click into a transaction, then go to Envelopes.
Choose an envelope to edit (e.g., a Buyer Rep Agreement) and click Edit.
Next to each question, click the three dots to open the menu. Options include:
Add description
Set current value as default
Read-only
Remove default
If you change an answer within a specific envelope, it will apply only to that envelope â the next envelope will revert to your saved preset. It works the other way too: saving a new default only affects envelopes you start afterwards. An envelope you already started keeps the answers it has.
To update your preset instead:
Type in the new value.
Click the three dots again and select Set current value as default.
A panel opens where you choose whether the default applies only to this form or to every envelope type that asks the same question. If you have the Envelope Settings permission, you can save it for yourself or for everyone on the account; without that permission, the same panel saves it as your own personal default. Confirm your choice, and the confirmation message tells you how many envelope types were updated.
Fixing an envelope you already started
A wrong answer from an old default: open the envelope, go to Edit and change the answer there. Saving a new default will not change it.
A wrong address on the documents: your office address comes from your account details, not from a default. Correct it in Settings â Account: click the pencil, update Address, City, State and Zip code, and click Save changes. Envelopes you start from then on use the new address.
To bring the new address into an envelope you already started: open it, go to Edit, change any answer (you can change it and then set it back), then go to Review. Click rebuilds the documents and picks up the new address. Going to Review without changing anything shows the documents as they were.
3. Additional Options for Team Leaders and Brokers
Once a question is read-only, a lock appears beside it for everyone on the account.
Click the three dots next to any question.
Add a description â this note will be visible to everyone on your account underneath that question.
Use the Read-only toggle to lock a field. A lock icon will appear next to the question to indicate itâs read-only.
If the toggle is greyed out, the reason is shown under it. Usually the question has no default for everyone on the account yet: set one first with Set current value as default, since a personal default is not enough.
Key Takeaway
Go through all your preset questions and fill in as many as possible â this is what saves you (and your team) the most time in the long run.
Once your presets are fully set up, they become a true game-changer for speeding up how quickly you can move through every envelope.
